I talked with a lady I met at work and she has got me turned on to the coupons. I guess Harris Tetter, a local grocery store does triple coupons about three to four times a year. I have my coupons ready and I am going to the store tomorrow. I saw her receipts from how much money she saves. Incredible is all I can say. She invests a lot of time in researching the grocery stores and clipping coupons, I know I will never be as good as her, but saving any amount of money will be good. Hopefully I will blog again soon to let you know I do tomorrow. Maggie, the lady I met, said I wouldn't save as much as her because I generally by all brand name items. But I can still try to save everything penny I can.
I also hope we eat at home more. I think this would help both New Years resolutions. The thing that kills me and our budget when cooking at home, is I don't like leftovers. I throw everything away that we don't eat at that setting. I think it is from being in the restaraunt buisness for so long. At both stores I have worked, you throw out food anywhere from 24-48 hours after is has been prepped. I also would do better at cooking meals if Chad and I had halfway normal schedules.
Speaking of Chad....He got promoted!! I am so proud of him. He had to switch shifts which kind of sucks, but he has been working very hard for this and I couldn't be any prouder. Hopefully I will "blog" again soon!
Til' next time

We're all really proud of Chad!
On the name-brand thing... Kim and I used to be the same way, but now we buy the Publix brand stuff. It's all been really good, as good or better than the name-brand products. Their bacon is especially good, but we buy their cereal, milk, cheeses (and other dairy), vegetables (frozen, canned, and bagged), tomato sauces, and condiments. We love their Greenwise chicken Italian sausage. It tastes great and is a LOT leaner than the pork, or even the turkey sausage. We also buy their brand of sandwich and freezer bags, foil, etc.
For saving money, I don't know if you've tried switching to low energy bulbs, but we switched all our lights (I think we spent around $40 at Target) and our energy usage has dropped by about 30%.
